So, I just got off the phone.
With a prospective client.
He was referred to me by someone I know well.
The person who referred him to me said he needed help with his social media.
This person is very knowledgeable about my services.
So it was a no-brainer.
I said “sure, no problem, I’ll call him”.
So I call the guy.
He tells me what he’s looking for.
I tell him I don’t do that.
He says: ‘well, what do you do’?
I tell him I consult with people on their social media.
I tell him I help my clients make their social media easy to find.
Because, believe it or not.
There are so many of you business owners.
Out there who have no idea.
That no one can find your social media accounts.
I tell him I help my clients improve their posts.
And, give them lots of ideas for other things.
That they can do to improve their social media.
As well as their website.
He said he didn’t need any of those things.
I said “cool”.
It’s all good.
And we hung up.
But, me being me.
I had to take a look at his social media.
Here’s what I found out:
His Facebook had zero audience.
And his posts were terrible.
He told me had an IG account,
Problem is, I couldn’t find it?
He said he had a YouTube account.
He said it was under THE EXACT NAME AS HIS FACEBOOK ACCOUNT.
Only guess what?
It wasn’t.
It was a slightly different name.
I can’t tell you how often that happens?
People just don’t understand the importance.
Of making all your accounts cohesive.
So, then I went to go to his website.
Thinking there would be a link to his IG.
Only thing.
His website didn’t work!
Yes, you heard that right.
His website link did not work.
I tried it both on my Ipad.
And then on my laptop.
Did not work.
That’s a problem!
And here he went and told me.
He didn’t need my help.
Turns out.
He does.
He just doesn’t know it.
I see it all the time.
Business owners who want to improve.
Their social media.
Only they have NO idea.
What they are doing!
It’s like.
Everyone wants to have an IG account.
But once they have it.
They don’t know what to do with it!
