“How can I be happy?” (5.14.17)

Yeah, I know it sounds like a good idea to the new-agers, god-squads, and holy-rollers to turn all things over to “the Universe,” but Iโ€™m a little concerned that something important has been lost in translation.

Patricia, how ’bout you just turn over the “hows” to me, and have yourself a little field day with the “all things” part?

Hope I got to you before they did,

How can I be happy?

The million dollar question these days!

Everyone is asking it.

And, I mean everyone!

So.

I have to ask?

Are you one of them?

I sincerely hope not.

But, since I know there are many out there.

That.

Today.

I’m sharing some tips on:

How can I be happy?

Smile – even if you have to fake it.

The simple act of smiling will make you feel better.

Double bonus if you share your smile with everyone around you!

Making someone else smile is one of the best feelings in the world.

No matter how you are feeling.

Making someone else’s day is a great way to make yourself happy.

And bonus point, it’s FREE!

Dress Your Best – I cannot emphasize this one enough.

Before you step out your door in the morning.

Take a quick look in the mirror and ask yourself.

Is this the image I want to show the world today?

Looking and feeling your best.

Are signs of self-confidence.

And.

When you have self-confidence.

You can do things you never would have imagined!

Like pursue all those dreams you have!๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

Which in turn.

Will bring you happiness!

Make eye contact – this is so important.

If you are looking to build trusting relationships and happiness.

Look people in the eye.

Both when listening and talking.

People want to be heard.

And not just with your ears.

When you are on the road to finding your happiness.

I think a big part of that is connecting, on a real level, with other people.

Compliment others – Dale Carnegie spoke about if often in his writings.

Of the simple act of complimenting others.

In that not only do you get to make another’s day.

And make them feel better.

You receive the residual affect of feeling better for the act of doing it.๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

Read that again!

Yes.

YOU will feel better.

Because YOU got to make someone else’s day!

Give someone a compliment.

A genuine compliment.

Dale Carnegie wrote of how he went into a store and saw the poor sales clerk having a miserable day.

So when it was his turn, he said to himself, ‘I’m going to make this young man smile.’

As he got to the counter, he looked at the young man and said: “You have the most gorgeous head of hair.”

And the young clerk beamed from ear-to-ear.

Making both his day.

And Dale Carnegie’s.

That’s what I’m talking about.

Want to be happy.

Make someone else happy and see what happens.

Wear lipstick – even if it’s Chapstick.

Seriously.

I literally couldn’t go one day without lipstick.

And I seriously don’t know how anyone could have a HAPPY day without it ๐Ÿ™‚

So please, use a little lip gloss or chap stick if you’re not a lipstick kind-of-girl.

And see how your life changes!

Exercise daily – as in move as much as you can in every single day!

Move.

Stretch.

Walk.

Take the stairs.

It is vital to your well-being to get up and move!๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

Side note:

This is one of the quickest ways people start to feel ‘old’.

They stop moving.

Don’t let that be you!

Hug someone – whether it’s a tree or your grandmother!

Be it your significant other.

Your kids or your pet.

It’s good for your heart and your soul.

Stay away from toxic people – and you know who I’m talking about!

Those individuals who suck the life right out of you.

The people who are negative.

Criticize.

And make you feel bad.

You’re not going to change them.

So best to either stay way from them.

Or limit your time with them to a minimum.๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

And.

Last.

But.

Not.

Least.

Be genuine – in everything you do.

With everyone you come into contact with.

Both personal and business.

There is nothing worse than a fake.

And.

Most people can smell one a mile away.

Be genuine with your acts, words, smile and feelings.๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

That’s how you find happiness.

How can I be happy?

And.

I know.

There are people.

Who will read my list.

And go.

Yeah.

Patti.

None.

Of.

Those.

Work.

For.

Me.

And then wonder, why they still aren’t happy! NineFrogs Daily QUOTE OF THE DAY:
