If you just start dancing, Patricia Bokowski, I can assure you, by the powers vested in me (more than you could ever imagine), the music will be added. As will the partners, the giant disco ball, and whatever else you like.
But I must warn you, “start” is not to be confused with “start and then stop to see if anything happens.” Nope, that’s “I’m scared, tired, and not sure what I really want.”
I mean “start” as in “never stop, never look back, because even if I make a ‘mistake,’ at least I still get to dance.”

That’s what crabs must say.
When they look down in the bucket.
Wait, what?
Crabs in a bucket?
WTF is that?
OK, It goes like this:
“Crab mentality, sometimes referred to as, crabs in a bucket.
Is a way of thinking best described by the phrase:
“if I can’t have it, neither can you.”
This is one of those.
Great metaphors in life.
Just think.
What do crabs think?
When they are being thrown into a bucket!
How do they act?
When you put a crab in a bucket.
And.
It tries to escape.
Obviously.
Now, put two crabs in the bucket.
What happens then?
Let’s see.
When one crab tries to escape.
The other crab will pull it back down into the bucket.
Hence, crabs in the barrel mentality.
Long way down!
LIFE works like that too.
People get jealous all the time.
Maybe someone gets a promotion.
And they are jealous THEY didn’t get one.
Or, someone buys a new house.
Much nicer than theirs.
And THEY get jealous.
Same goes for cars, jobs, business, partners, etc.
Hell, I’ve heard of people getting jealous.
Because of what gym someone went to!
Long way down!
There may be those around you.
That don’t want you to succeed.
They are very comfortable.
Where you are in your life, IN their life.
And they don’t want you to rock the boat.
Only, one day you decide you want more.
You don’t want to live a mediocre life.
YOU WANT MORE!
Do more, be more.
Maybe you want to start your own business?
Perhaps you go back to college and work on that degree?
It doesn’t really matter what it is.
If you make the people around you uncomfortable.
Don’t be surprised if they try and sabotage you!
Long way down!
This can make others around you very uncomfortable.
So they will try and pull you back.
Say things like, “it won’t work”,
“you can’t do it”,
“you will never succeed”,
“how are you going to do that”,
and so on.
Only.
That’s on them.
Not you.
Long way down!
My advice.
Surround yourself with people.
Who make you feel like sunshine.
And.
If that means you only have one person.
Consider yourself lucky.
I’d rather have one person who has my back.
Then eight who I have to keep one eye open.
Long way down!
People who believe in you and your dreams.
They are gold.
Everyone else.
Forget them.
If they are meant to be in your life.
They will find a way.
Long way down!
And how are you going to find those people?
Because people always ask me that?
Easy.
They’ll find you.
They always do.
Just keep working on your goals.
Daily.
Build your foundation.
Literally.
One day at a time.
Long way down!
Here’s another thing people need to understand.
Blowing out someone else’s candle.
Doesn’t make yours shine any brighter.
And man.
I have been seeing so much of this on social media.
It is literally a dog-eat-dog-world.
People get so jealous.
When they see someone else getting some attention.
So their reaction is to go for the hate!
Please.
Stop.
Long way down!
My feeling is this.
If something great happens to you.
And.
If I’m happy for you.
I just put out that good vibration out into The Universe,.
And that’s vibration is going to come back on me.
The Universe loves positive vibes.
And it loves the people who put out the good vibes.
Long way down!
Those are your people.
Personally, I have a handful of people.
To go to when I need help.
And. when I say a handful.
That’s exactly what I mean.
And I am not afraid to ask them anything.
And in turn.
They ask me for my help when they need it.
That’s the wonderful thing.
About surrounding yourself with supportive people.
People who aren’t trying.
To pull you back into the barrel.
Instead they are pushing you up!
Long way down!
And the day will come when all of the gold in the world will not appeal to you as much, Patricia, as having just one more day of being who and where you already are, with what you already have.
