“How can I be a writer?” (9.17.17)

Patricia Bokowski, it’s as if, when moving from point A to point B in your life — from sickness to health, poverty to wealth, whatever – at some point in the journey, arriving at point B becomes inevitable, a sure thing. However, at no point in your journey is this physically verifiable — until you reach point B.
The point being (yuck, yuck), you may have already crossed that line. But you’ll never know it, unless you see the journey through.

How can I be a writer?

I get that question often!

And the answer is simple.

Just start writing!

That’s what I did!

Did I know what I was doing?

Hell no!

But that didn’t stop me?

I just did it.

I always knew.

That one day.

I wanted to write a blog.

So, one day I just started.

It’s like anything else in life.

I, like many others.

Have some favorite authors.

Marianne Williamson is one of mine.

So today.

I am sharing a short poem of hers.

I’ve had it posted.

On the back of my office door.

For years now.

And I read it at least once a week.

To remind myself.

What I am capable of.

I think for many people.

Myself included.

We back down.

From doing something.

Because we are actually.

Afraid of shining too bright.

Afraid of using our power.

Well, no more!

I’m giving both myself.

And you.

Permission to shine.

Like a beautiful mother fu*king Rock Star👈👈👈

Here is the poem:

So again.

If you want write.

Start writing!

Just make sure it is something.

You are passionate about.

And remember.

You don’t have to be an expert.

When I first started blogging.

I thought.

Mmmmm, what subject.

Can I write about.

That no one else has?

Turns out, not much.

Because pretty much EVERYTHING.

Has been written about.

BUT here’s the thing.

You write about ‘whatever’.

From your point of view.

That’s what your reader.

Wants from you.

Your viewpoint.

Once I figured that out.

Writing became a whole lot easier for me.

When I first started writing.

I thought.

Could I ever write something really special?

Something that people would be like.

“OMG, Patricia, I love it!”

I mean.

Technically I wasn’t a writer.

How could I ever write something?

That people would actually read.

AND love?

Turns out.

I could.

That’s the thing about writing.

You never know when.

You are going to write something.

That people will love.

I wrote a blog a few years ago: ;How can I be happy? (5.14.17)

And if I tell you.

How many people loved it!

One man wrote me.

And said how much he loved it!

That he made copies.

And posted them all around his gym.

That’s what I’m talking about!

When you have the ability.

To touch people’s souls.

With your writing.

It’s a truly awesome feeling.

I should add.

It’s just that easy.

And it’s just that hard.

But, don’t let that scare you.

Don’t let that be the reason.

You don’t start today.

When it comes to writing.

Remember this:

It is just as easy to think BIG.

As it is to think small.

Might be a bit more work.

But, that’s ok.

One day you’re writing a blog.

Three years from now.

You’re writing a book.

You never know?

How can I be a writer?

Speaking of books.

Have you heard?

I wrote a book!

Titled:  “How One Landscaping Bill Changed Everything!”

I cannot wait for you guys to read it!

Don’t ever give up on a dream.

Because someone else.

Told you it can’t happen.

Or, that you won’t be able to do it.

Only you can decide that.

So again, if you want to be a writer.
