For years.
I always felt I had something bigger in me.
That I had a bigger purpose.
Through all my years in the corporate world.
Always had this nagging ‘something’ in me.
Saying:
‘Patti, this is good and all, but you need to be doing something much bigger.’
Of course.
At the time.
I had no idea.
What that ‘something’ was?
But.
I did know there was something else.
Every few years or so.
I would switch positions in the company.
Back in my Cablevision days.
Thinking ‘maybe’ this is the “thing”.
I need to be complete.
Needless to say.
It never happened.
I’d be happy for a while.
Then my ‘bigger thing syndrome’ would return.
And.
I’d feel totally unfulfilled 🙁

The corporate world.
Was just not my world anymore.
I didn’t fit in.
And I didn’t want to be there.
And.
I should add.
In those last six months.
I absolutely HATED the people I was working with.
So dishonest.
So distrustful.
So calculated.
And so.
It was time.
To start MY own world.
So in 2012.
I took a giant leap of faith.
And I started my NineFrogs business.
That’s when things started changing, rapidly.
I felt it.
That ‘something’.
That I’d been searching for for so long.
This was it!
I couldn’t believe it.
Could this be true?
Was this it?
Like.
I finally found “it”.
I should say.
It didn’t happen overnight.
No.
It took me a bit of time.
To get the right fit.
But once I got.
That was it!
I was IN!

Going after your dream.
Is neither a part-time or full-time job.
And.
Is most definitely a LIFESTYLE.
And the funny thing.
You aren’t really aware of it.
At first.
You think you’re just starting a business.
Unprepared (mostly) for what’s coming next!
You start to find.
As time goes by.
That every decision in your life.
Is based on your business.
Someone told me once.
In my early years of my business.
“That you need to eat, sleep, breathe your business”.
I’ll be honest.
At the time.
I didn’t really get that.
But shortly thereafter.
I did.
Because.
That’s where you find your magic.
When your business is in YOU!

When someone is really passionate about something.
Like J.K. Rowling was when she wrote Harry Potter.
Taking all kinds of chances that it would be a hit.
Obviously, not knowing.
Because.
No one ever knows.
Not really.
I mean.
You hope upon hope.
That you’re on the right track.
But.
You don’t really know do you?
There’s that thing.
About people who are really passionate.
About what they are doing?
Their eyes light up.
And their voice.
Usually goes up a few octives.
And.
Gets a little louder.
And if they’re like me.
They can’t stop talking about it!
Seriously!

That’s how you know.
You are onto something.
When you have that in you.
Which, btw, is not planted in everyone.
But if you are fortunate to have it.
It’s magical.
It is life-changing.
It’s like you have been awoke.
Like never before.
Like, you are seeing the world.
In a whole new light.
And the thing is.
YOU are the only one who sees it.
Which is why.
Many will think you are crazy.
And.
Not afraid to tell you btw.
But, don’t worry about them.
You know what you have to do.

Trust me here.
You will fail.
And you will fail.
Many more times after that.
That’s part of the process ;-(
The thing is.
You can’t quit.
And trust me.
You WILL want to quit!
But, you can’t.
It’s that simple.
You just need to suck it up.
And make it happen.
That’s why they call it.
A process.

From those around you.
Just remember.
They can’t see.
What you see.
