“How can I get great customer service?” (9.19.18)

So I was thinking, Patricia Bokowski… I know you know that there’s the “you” that you know you are — adventurous, good-looking, and fun to be around.

And I know you know that there’s another part of “you” in the unseen who you’ve kind of temporarily forgotten — who completes you, loves you, and knows what’s really going on.

Well, how’d you like it if I removed the veils? Just for a second? Gave you a glimpse of who that special, divine, otherworldly essence is, so that you might at last begin to comprehend how extraordinary, sublime, and divine you really are?

Okay?

It’s me!

Want to know how you get great customer service?

Be a great customer?👈👈👈

Let’s face it, we ALL want great customer service!

As both an Image Consultant &  Professional Personal Shopper.

I’m in the stores often.

Oh, and…

Did I mention I love to shop!

And while I’m shopping.

I am ALWAYS people watching.

And I have to say.

Half the time I’m shocked at what I see!

In today’s blog, I’m exploring the good and bad of customer service!

Store I:

You know you’re a good customer when:

I was at the Dollar Store.

On one of three long lines.

When all of a sudden someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘follow me”.

And so I did.

One of the cashiers opened a line just for me.

And then another lady came up behind me and started her stuff on the belt.

And the sales lady stopped her.

Said “no, I’m just ringing up this lady. you need to get back in line.”

Now, you and I know, they don’t do that for everyone.👈👈👈

They only do that for the customers they really like.

Note: Be a good customer!

And expect to be treated better!

Think about it.

Whether your business is on-line or brick and mortar.

Who’s the first person your customers either see or talk too?

Because whoever that person is.

That person is the face of your business!

So.

Make sure they are representing you well!

And surprisingly, or not.

So many businesses are NOT doing that.

I’m sure I’m not alone.

When I say I cannot believe.

Who, a lot of business owners leave running THEIR businesses?

Like, what are they thinking?

Story II:

I went to my local jewelry store (my guy).

To have the latch on my recently purchases bracelet fixed.

He fixed it and charged me $5.00.

Two days later.

The chain (which came with the bracelet) totally broke in half.

So, I brought it back.

And my jeweler put a whole new chain on it.

Didn’t charge me a penny.

Said he just wanted me to be happy!

Eventually, Benny reconstructed the whole bracelet.

Designed it in sterling silver with a pearl.

For a very minimal charge.

Now that’s excellent customer service!

Now ask me if I tell everyone about him?

You better believe it!

And now I’m telling you.

Here is one of my biggest pet-peeves with people in stores.

And it doesn’t matter the store.

Whether it is 7-11, the deli or a high-end department store?

When people go to pay.

And they throw their money or your credit card on the counter.

As someone who worked at TJMaxx for three and a half years at the jewelry counter.

I can’t tell you how many times this happened to me.

And I hated it.

So I’m telling you!

DON’T DO IT.

It’s RUDE👈👈👈

Like, what?

You can’t handle your own money?

If you can’t hand your OWN money to the cashier.

Like a proper customer.

You don’t deserve to buy anything.

That’s it.

JUST DON’T DO IT!

I recently had a very bad experience at a local spa.

So I did something I don’t normally do.

I left a negative review on their FaceBook page.

The following day I received a phone call from the owner.

She apologized for the bad experience.

The offered me a remedy to the situation.

Which, btw, I didn’t take her up on.

Because I wasn’t happy with her offer.

So I didn’t take my bad review down.

Don’t be afraid to write a bad review if you receive bad customer service.

Trust me, in this day and age, no one wants a bad review✔✔✔

On the other side of that though.

If you receive great customer service.

Leave a review as well.

I do that all the time!

Regarding my experience at the jewelry store (as noted above).

Like I said.

I’ve told everyone I know that story.

That’s how impressed I am by him.

He is a top class gentleman.

When what happens and you deliver the goods,.

People will talk about it and tell everyone they know

Similarly, same goes for bad customer service too, remember that!

And, people are more inclined to leave a bad review if they aren’t happy.

Rather then leave a good review because they are happy.

I am pretty sure I’ve told EVERYONE I know about my bad experience at that spa.

I am a very good customer.

How do I know that?

Because for the most part.

I receive very good customer service wherever I go!

That’s why I keep going back and shop at the same places.

Because they know I am a good customer, and treat me as such.

And if I go somewhere new, I see how they treat me.

If I receive good customer service I go back.

And if not, I don’t go back!

That is why it is so important to treat every customer like a KING/QUEEN!

That is so true.

Everyone wants to feel important!

Everyone wants to feel heard.

Each individual carries with them a lot of wants.

EVERYONE wants great customer service!

If you own a business, give it to them!!!
